The aim of the Plikington Pyroclear® Smoke Barrier is to control the movement of fire gases and smoke within buildings or fire compartments by creating a barrier. Pilkington Pyroclear® 30-001 SB is an EN 12101-1 tested system of a transparent static smoke barrier made of a special highly tempered and heat-strengthened monolithic fire-resistant glass (type SSB "static smoke barrier", solid material). Static smoke barriers, in contrast to self-actuating smoke barriers, are constantly in the position planned for the case of fire.
